In blustery conditions Surrey athletes won 14 medals. There were 6 outright victories for Morgan Lake (WSEH) in the U17W High Jump (1.88m CBP), U17W Long Jump (5.91m/+2.0) and U17W Triple Jump (12.34m/+3.3 CBP); Sophie Mace (Walton) U15G Discus (40.51m); Stefan Amokwandoh (B&B) U17M Triple Jump (14.56/+3.0) and Michelangelo Buter (WSEH) U15B Shot Putt (15.93m).
Kingston & Poly men out in force Tom Parry (105), Mark Andrews (120), Mark Roberts (124), Neil Jennings (118) and Chris Hall (108) line up for the 100 metres in the Surrey Decathlon at the David Weir Leisure Centre, Carshalton on Saturday, 7th September 2013.

(64) BOB BELMORE 1927 - 2013
We are sad to report the passing of Bob Belmore on 9th September after a long illness. Bob was a life member of the County Association and will be remembered particularly for his long association with Veterans/Masters athletics.
(65) MARIANNE BLACK (nee DEW) 1938 - 2013
We regret to announce the death of Marianne Black on 16 September 2013 aged 75. As Marianne Dew of Selsonia Ladies AC she made her breakthrough in 1958 when, after winning the Surrey 220 yards title, followed by the Southern title, she then finished 3rd in the WAAA final. She was selected to represent England in the 1958 British Empire & Commonwealth Games, held in Cardiff, and GB&NI in the 1958 European Championships, held in Stockholm, where she reached the semi-finals of the 200m and was part of the British team which finished 2nd in the 4x100m relay. She married Alan Black the Belgrave Harriers runner. Her last international appearance was in 1962. Her profile shows many of her performances.
