(1) SURREY COUNTY AAA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, 12TH FEBRUARY 1953.
The meeting was held at Rutlish School with 37 attendees signing the attendance list. Mr F W Allen was elected as President.
The following officers were elected: Mr R W L Thrasher (Hon Gen Secretary), Mr W F Fairhead (Hon Treasurer), Mr A T Liffen (Assistant Hon Secretary) and Mr J Lemon (Hon Champs Secretary).
(2) SURREY COUNTY 10 MILES ROAD WALKING CHAMPIONSHIP, WALTON, 28TH FEBRUARY 1953.
(3) SURREY COUNTY 20 MILES ROAD RUNNING CHAMPIONSHIP, MITCHAM, 2ND MAY 1953.
(6) SURREY COUNTY RECORD FOR SENIOR MEN 2 MILES, 25TH MAY 1953.
Competing at The British Games held at White City, London on 25th May 1953 where he won the 2 Miles Chris Chataway (Walton AC) with a time of 8:49.6 set a new Surrey Record. This performance was also a British Allcomers, a British National and an English Native Record.
(10) AAA TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS, WHITE CITY, LONDON, 10TH/11TH JULY 1953
Gordon Pirie (SLH) set a new World Record of 28:19.4 when winning the 6 Miles on the 10th July. On the following day he set a Championship Record of 13:43.4 when winning the 3 Miles.
(15) SURREY COUNTY RECORD FOR SENIOR MEN 3 MILES, 1ST AUGUST 1953.
Competing in the GB v FRANCE International held at White City, London on 1st August 1953 where he won the 3 Miles Gordon Pirie (SLH) with a time of 13:36.4 set a new Surrey Record. This performance was also a British Allcomers, a British National and an English Native Record. Gordon beat the previous Surrey record of 13:41. 8 which he set in June.
