(16) WAAA CHAMPIONSHIPS, WHITE CITY, LONDON, 1ST/2ND JULY 1966
Anne Smith (Mitcham AC) set a European and UK National record in winning the 880 Yards with a time of 2:04.2. Brenda Bedford (Hercules AC) was another Surrey winner with her Shot Putt of 47ft 7¾in (14.52m).
(18) ESAA (ENGLISH SCHOOLS) CHAMPIONSHIPS, BLACKBURN, 7TH/8TH JULY 1966
Barbara Inkpen (Aldershot & District AC) set a new championship record of 5ft 5in (1.65m) when winning the Inter Girls High Jump. There were further Surrey winners with Maureen Barton (Surrey AC) in the Senior Girls Long Jump and David Marchese (Surrey AC) in the Inter Boys 440 yards. Surrey athletes also won 8 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.
(19) AAA CHAMPIONSHIPS, WHITE CITY, LONDON, 8TH/9TH JULY 1966
Laurie Taitt (Herne Hill H) in the 120 yards hurdles and Gordon Miller (South London H) in the High Jump both won silver medals. Dave Travis (Surrey AC) gained a bronze medal in the Javelin.
(20) WAAA INTERMEDIATE & JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS, WATFORD, 16TH JULY 1966
Barbara-Anne Barrett (Mitcham AC) and Janet Oldall (Woking AC) both won gold and bronze medals. Barbara-Anne won the Junior High Jump and was third in the Long Jump. Similarly, Janet won the Intermediate High Jump and was third in the Long Jump. Surrey athletes won nine medals overall.
