Competing in the Welsh Championships at Cardiff on 12th June 2022 Jade Ive (Sutton & District) equalled the existing outdoor record of 4.35m for the Senior Women Pole Vault. The existing record was set by Janine Whitlock (Belgrave Harriers) in 2006. Jade's best performance indoors is 4.43m which she achieved in 2019.
Competing in England Athletics U18 Qualifying Events at Bedford on 19th June 2022 Arabella Wilson (Winchester & District) set a new record of 59.99 for the U17 Women 400m Hurdles. The previous record of 60.64 was set by her in the Surrey Championships on 15th May. Her time of 59.99 is the fastest ever by a British 15-year old.
Several Surrey athletes were contesting the National Championships. Those finishing either 1st or 2nd and having the qualifying standard would be selecyed for the British team for the World Championships being held in Eugene, USA in July. It was also an opportunity to be recognised as potential team members for the World U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia in August and the European Championships in Munich, Germany in August.

PAIGE STEVENS WINS SHOT BRONZE
Paige Stevens (Falkirk Victoria Harriers) set a new personal best of 16.69m for the 3kg Shot when finishing third on Tuesday, 5th July.
Paige was 2nd in Qualifying Group B held on Monday, 4th July with a personal best of 16.46m. She was the 2nd best qualifyer across the 2 groups.
In the Junior Girls Javelin (500g) in the final round Jessica Howells (Guildford & Godalming) set a new Surrey County Under-15 Record with a throw of 41.43m. Shortly afterwards Elise Christian (Guildford & Godalming) improved that record by throwing 42.45m. The previous record of 40.93m was set by Paula Holguin at the 2015 English Schools championships.
In the Junior Boys 1500m Final Alex Lennon (Sutton & District) set a new Surrey County Under-15 Record with his winning time of 4:04.12. This improved the previous record set by Rikkie Letch in 2007 by three hundredths of a second.

Friday, 15TH JULY - Both Surrey athletes were drawn in Heat 2 (of 3) of the 1500m. The qualification for Saturday's semi-finals was 1st 6 + 6 next fastest. Adelle Tracey (Guildford & Godalming) representing Jamaica was 6th to automatically qualify and Katie Snowden (Herne Hill Harriers) was 10th and qualified as the 6th fastest non-automatic qualifier.
Saturday, 16TH JULY - Morgan Lake (Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow) withdrew from the High Jump following a positive Covid test. Chris McAlister (Thames Valley Harriers) was 6th in his heat of the 400mH and did not qualify for the semis. Imani Lansiquot (Sutton & District) was 4th in her 100m heat and did not qualify for the semis. In the 1500m semfinals Adelle Tracey and Katie Snowden were again drawn in the same heat finishing 8th and 10th respectively - neither qualified for the final.
Sunday, 17TH JULY - Lawrence Okoye (Croydon Harriers) was 13th over the 2 Discus qualifying pools and the top 12 qualify for the final.
Monday, 18TH JULY - Rose Harvey (Clapham Chasers) ran in Marathon - she retired after 25k after suffering from cramp. Jade Lally (Shaftesbury Barnet) was 8th in Pool A of the Discus - she was 18th across the 2 pools - only the top 12 qualified for the Final.
Tuesday, 19TH JULY - Jessie Knight (Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow) was 4th in her heat of 400mH to gain an automatic qualification for Wednesday's semis.
Wednesday, 20TH JULY - Jessie Knight was 7th in the second of three 400mH semi-finals.
Thursday, 21ST JULY - Adelle Tracey (Guildford & Godalming) representing Jamaica was 3rd in her heat of the 800m to automatically qualify for the semis to be held on Friday.
Friday, 22ND JULY - Imani Lansiquot ran the 2nd leg for the GB & NI 4x100m relay team which won their heat to qualify for Saturday's final. Adelle Tracey was 3rd in the first of 3 semis for the 800m but did not qualify for the final.
Saturday, 23RD JULY - In the final of women 4x100m Imani Lansiquot ran the 2nd leg - the team was 5th.
Sunday, 24TH JULY - In the final of women 4x400m Jessie Knight ran the 3rd leg - the team was 3rd.
(28) ENGLAND U23/U20 CHAMPIONSHIPS & WORLD TRIALS, BEDFORD, 16TH/17TH JULY 2022
GOLD MEDALS FOR TOBY DRONFIELD & HENRY FISHER Toby Dronfield (Blackheath & Bromley) won the U20 Triple Jump and Henry Fisher (Blackheath & Bromley) won the U23 800m. Surrey athletes also won 2 Silver medals and 3 Bronze medals
Competing in the BMC meeting at Eltham on 20th July 2022 Alex Lennon (Sutton & District) set a new record of 4:02.45 for the U15 Boys 1500m. He set the previous record of 4:04.12 when winning the English Schools title earlier this month.
Wednesday, 3rd August - Will Barnicoat was 8th in heat 1 (of 2) of 3000m. He did not qualify for the final.
Thursday, 4th August - Tyler Panton ran the 3rd leg in heat 2 (of 4) of the Men 4x100m. The team did not finish.

Tuesday, 2nd August - Imani Lansiquot (Sutton & District) was 2nd in the second heat of the 100m to qualify for Wednesday's semi-finals. Her time was the 7th fastest across the 7 heats. Lawrence Okoye (Croydon Harriers) was 2nd in qualification group B (3rd across the 2 groups) to qualify for Thursday's final. Jade Lally (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers) 2nd in Women's Discus final.
Wednesday, 3rd August - Imani Lansiquot was 3rd in the 1st of 3 100m semi-finals. She missed qualifying for the final by 1/100th of a second.
Thursday, 4th August - Morgan Lake (Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow) was equal 1st in qualification Group B of the High Jump to qualify for Saturday's final. Jessie Knight (Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow) 3rd in heat 2 of Women's 400m Hurdles to qualify for final on Saturday. Lawrence Okoye 2nd in Men's Discus final.
Friday, 5th August - Katie Snowden (Herne Hill Harriers) was 2nd in heat 2 (of 2) in the 1500m and automatically qualified for Sunday's final.
Saturday, 6th August - Morgan Lake was 4th in High Jump final. In the heats of the 2 4x100m relay Imani Lansiquot and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (Sutton & District) both ran the 2nd leg - the women were 2nd in heat 2 and the men were 1st in heat 1 which means both teams automatically qualify for Sunday's final. Owen Heard (Harrow) was 5th in Pole Vault final and Jessie Knight was 5th in 400m Hurdles final.
Sunday, 7th August - In the Men 4x100m England were first in the final - Harry Aikines-Aryeetey did not run the final but received a Gold medal because he ran in the heats. In the Women 4x100m England were second in the final - Imani Lansiquot ran the 2nd leg in both the heats and the final so she wins a Silver medal. Katie Snowden was 7th in the 1500m final. Jessie Knight ran the last leg in the 4x400m final the team was disqualified.

Monday, 15th August -Luke Caldwell (Dorking & Mole Valley) did not finish the marathon. Our Officials Secretary, Mark Purser, was in action. He was observed starting the first round heats of both the men's and women's 400m. Jade Lally (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers) was 5th in Qualificatio Group A of the Discus. She qualified for Tuesday's final. Tuesday, 16th August -Jahisha Thomas (Blackheath & Bromley) was 5th in Qualification Group B of the Long Jump and qualified for Thursday's final. Katie Snowden (Herne Hill Harriers) placed 5th in heat 2 of 2 of the 1500m and qualified for Friday's final as the fastest non-automatic qualifier. Jade Lally placed 9th in the Discus final. Imani Lansiquot (Sutton & District) was 3rd in the first of 3 semi-finals of the 100m and qualified as the fastest non-automatic qualifier. In the final she placed 5th. Wednesday, 17th August -Jacob Paul (Windsor, Slough, Eton &s Hounslow) was 2nd in the first heat of 4 in the 400m Hurdles. He qualified automatically for Thursday's semis. Lawrence Okoye (Croydon Harriers) was 6th in Qualification Group B of the Discus and qualified for Friday's final. Thursday, 18th August - Jacob Paul was 5th in the second of three semi-finals for the 400m Hurdles. He did not qualify for the final. Jessie Knight (Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow) was 4th in the second of three semi-finals for the 400m Hurdles. She did not qualify for the final. Jahisha Thomas was 10th in the Long Jump final. Friday, 19th August -Morgan Lake (Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow) qualified for the final of the High Jump. Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (Sutton & District) ran the 2nd leg in the first of 2 heats of the 4x100m relay which GB&NI won to qualify for the final. Imani Lansiquot ran the 2nd leg in the first of 2 heats of the 4x100m relay which GB&NI won to qualify for the final. Lawrence Okoye placed 3rd in the Discus final. Katie Snowden placed 4th in the 1500m final. Sunday, 21st August - Morgan Lake was equal 7th in the High Jump. Imani Lansiquot was on the 2nd leg of 4x100m final - she did not receive the baton so the team did not finish. Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, although he did not run the final of the 4x100m relay should, because he ran in the heat, receive a Gold Medal because the four who did run the final came first.
Competing in the EA Under-15 Championships at Bedford on 27th August 2022 Elise Christian (Guildford & Godalming) set a new record of 44.52m for the U15 Girls 500g Javelin. She had set the previous record of 42.45m at the English Schools in July.
