(21) SURREY COUNTY UNDER-20 WOMEN 3000M STEEPLECHASE RECORD
Competing in the West Suffolk Middle Distance & Steeplechase Festival meeting at Bury St. Edmunds on 28th April 2024 Rachel Clutterbuck (Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow) set a new County record of 10:49.26 for the U20W 3000M Steeplechase. This was an improvement on the previous record of 10:50.01 set by Martha Collings (Woking) in 2021.

COUNTY RECORDS
In the Under-17 Women Javelin event Jessica Howells (Winchester & District) set a new County record of 47.26m. This was an improvement on the previous record of 47.01m set by Paula Holguin (Cambridge H) set in 2016.

With temperatures in the mid-20s and no rain the conditions were excellent for the athletes wanting to set PBs and SBs. If you look through the RESULTS you will find 15 Championship Best Performances and a County record (see item below).
During the meeting we had a minutes applause in memory of Nick Phipps who died recently. We were also saddened to hear that Caspian Holmes (Herne Hill Harriers) was involved in a car accident on his way to contest the final of the Under-15 Boys 1500m. We hope that he makes a full recovery shortly and is able to resume a talented career.
Competing in the BMC PB Classic Meeting at Street on 1st June 2024 Jake Meyburgh (Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow) set a new County record of 8:19.46 for the U17M 3000M. This was an improvement on the previous record of 8:21.4 set by James Dargan (AFD) in 2022.
(28) SURREY COUNTY UNDER-20 WOMEN 2000M STEEPLECHASE RECORD
Competing in the Sussex County Open Meeting at K2, Crawley on 2nd June 2024 Anna Bloomfield (Epsom & Ewell) set a new County record of 6:57.15 for the U20W 2000M Steeplechase. This was an improvement on the previous record of 7:05.7 set by Nancy Scott (AFD) in 2018.
(31) SURREY COUNTY UNDER-17 WOMEN 3000M BEST PERFORMANCE
Competing in the Hercules Wimbledon 3000m Night of Races at Wimbledon Park on 12th June 2024 Katie Pye (Aldershot, Farnham & District) set the fastest known time of 9:09.67 for the U17W 3000M. The previous fastest known time of 9:13.93 was set by Emelia Gorecka (AFD) in 2010. Both of these performances were set in mixed gender races and so are eligible to be Surrey County records. Currently the County Record stands at 9:18.4 set by emilia Gorecka in 2010.
Competing in the ESAA South-East Region Combined Events Championships held at Bracknell on 22nd/23rd June 2024 Jasmine Nkoso (Herne Hill) set a new Surrey County Record for the 3kg Shot with a put of 13.67m. The previous record if 13.59m was set by Issy Stamp (South London) in 2022.
Competing in the BMC Grand Prix held at Loughborough on 22nd June 2024 Alex Lennon (Sutton & District) set a new Surrey Under-17 County Record for 1500m with a time of 3:48.17. The previous record of 3:51.81 was set by Gus Cockle (Aldershot, Farnham & District) in 2013.
Congratulations to Georgie Bruinvels (Aldershot, Farnham & District), the winner of the W35 title, who has also won the other two W35 road race championships this year - 10 Miles and Half-Marathon. Furthermore, she has won the SW and W35 Cross-Country titles in the current competition year.

(36) SURREY COUNTY SENIOR WOMEN 2000M STEEPLECHASE RECORD
Competing in the BMC Grand Prix held at Birmingham University on 6th July 2024 Stevie Lawrence (Croydon) set a new Surrey Senior Women County Record for 2000m Steeplechase with a time of 6:26.69. The previous record of 6:29.53 was set by Rosie Clarke (Epsom & Ewell) in 2016.
(37) ENGLISH SCHOOLS TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS, BIRMINGHAM, 12TH/13TH JULY 2024
Surrey athletes had a successful two days. In the individual events we have been able to identify 11 gold medal winners, 5 silver medal winners and 6 bronze medal winners. Please let us know if we have omitted any body.
Jasmine Nkoso (HHH) improved the U15 Girls Shot record from 13.67m to 13.84m. Lottie Quinn (AFD) improved the U17 Women 1500m Steeplechase record from 5:02.5 to 4:59.11. Issy Stamp (SLH) improved the U17 Women Shot record from 15.22m to 16.04m. Jessica Howells (Winchester & Dist) improved the U17 Women Javelin record from 47.26m to 49.74m.
(39) SURREY COUNTY UNDER-20 WOMEN 3000M STEEPLECHASE RECORD
Competing in the English Championships at Birmingham on 19th July 2024 Anna Bloomfield (Epsom & Ewell) set a new County record of 10:41.31 for the U20W 3000M Steeplechase. This was an improvement on the previous record of 10:49.26 set by Rachel Clutterbuck (Windsor, Slough, Eton & Hounslow) in April.
(40) CAU INTER-COUNTY TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS, BIRMINGHAM, 19-21 JULY 2024
There is no distinct CAU-only meeting. Team scores for the CAU championships are calculated using points achieved by individual athletes across all the age groups participating in the English Championships.
Surrey was placed 1st in the Women's event and 2nd in the Men's event and were first overall.
