It is with great sadness that we report the death of Ann Sissons on 20th November 2025.
Ann was a past Surrey Champion (220 yards in 1952 and 440 yards in 1958 & 1959). She represented Surrey in inter-county matches on the track and over cross-country. A member of Epsom and Ewell Harriers she was also a Surrey Team Manager.
It is with great sadness that we report the death of Terence Higgins on 25th November 2025.
Terence was a member of Herne Hill Harriers a connection he maintained throughout his later political career including as a government minister. He was knighted in 1993.
He was a member of the British 4x400m relay team which finished fifth at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics and of the England 4x440yds team which was second in the 1950 Auckland Empire Games. His Surrey Performance profile shows that he contested Surrey County Championships from 1949 through to 1955.

(65) SURREY INDOOR UNDER-17 MEN LONG JUMP RECORD, 6TH DECEMBER 2025.
Competing in the Loughborough Indoor Open meeting held on 6th December 2025 Michael Maguire (Reigate Priory) improved the Under-17 Surrey Indoor Long Jump record with a jump of 7.41m. The previous best of 7.00m was set by Elliot Safo (Croydon) in 2010.
(67) SURREY INDOOR UNDER-17 MEN 3000M RECORD, 14TH DECEMBER 2025.
Competing in the SEAA Indoor Middle-distance Championships held on 14th December 2025 at Lee Vally Jack Procopakis (AFD) improved the Under-17 Surrey Indoor 3000m record with a time of 9:14.91. The previous record of 9:24.47 was set by Blas Rivero-Stevenet (AFD) in 2024.
(68) SURREY UNDER-17 WOMEN INDOOR 300M RECORD, 21ST DECEMBER 2025
Competing in the Be Fit Today Track Academy Indoor Series meeting held at Lee valley on 21st December Holly Ryan (Shaftesbury Barnet) set a new record 39.17. She set the previous record of 39.21 in February earlier this year.
