(2) SURREY COUNTY CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS, LLOYD PARK, CROYDON, 5TH JANUARY 2013
Running in the Husky Invitational at the University of Washington, Seattle on 8th Februay 2013, Luke Caldwell (Dorking & Mole Valley) set a new Surrey County Indoor Record of 13:40.39.
(5) SOUTH-EAST REGION U13/U15 SPORTSHALL FINALS, BURGESS HILL, 9TH FEBRUARY 2013
Two Surrey teams have qualified for the National sportshall finals in April after a high quality regional final.
The Under-13 Girls and Under-15 Boys both qualified for the National Finals on 7th April by winning their agegroups with Anthony Ahatty (Herne Hill) the top all-rounder.
The Under-13 Boys were second to Hampshire and the Under-15 Girls (last years National champions) just missed out in third place, only 10 points behind the winners who were again Hampshire.

(6) UK INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS, SHEFFIELD, 9TH/10TH FEBRUARY 2013
Congratulations to James Dasaolu (Croydon H) and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey (Sutton & District AC) on their 1st and 2nd placings in the 60 metres final.
Competing at Swindon on 16th February 2013, Sophie Mace (Walton AC) improved her previous record of 41.73m set on 27.08.2012 to 42.83m and then went on to throw 43.83m.

Congratulations to the three Surrey "National" Champions - Emelia Gorecka (AFD Under-20 Women), Katy-Ann McDonald (HHH Under-13 Girls) and Ian Bailey (AFD Under-20 Men). In addition the Herne Hill Harriers Under-13 Girls who won their team event were all Surrey athletes.
(11) EUROPEAN INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS, GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN, 1ST - 3RD MARCH 2013
JAMES DASAOLU WINS EUROPEAN SILVER MEDAL
James came 2nd in 6.48 (same time as winner) which is the equal fastest in the world this year. This time was also a Surrey indoor record (previously 6.51 by Jason Livingston).
(12) CAU INTER-COUNTY CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS, BIRMINGHAM, 9TH MARCH 2013
ANOTHER SUCCESSFULL DAY FOR SURREY'S ATHLETES AS THE COUNTY REGAINS THE TROPHY (LAST WON IN 2011) FOR THE BEST OVERALL AGGREGATE SCORE. THERE WERE INDIVIDUAL VICTORIES FOR EMELIA GORECKA (U20W AFD) & KATY-ANN McDONALD (U13G HHH).
(13) SURREY COUNTY ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION AGM, LEATHERHEAD, FRIDAY, 22ND MARCH 2013
- The AGM and the Presentation of Awards was held on 22nd March 2013 at the Leatherhead Institute. The Chairman welcomed those present including the President of Middlesex County AA, Ivor Wiggett, and the daughter and son-in-law of Herbert Bignall who was an Olympic athlete in 1928 who took part in the 1948 Torch Relay. One of the original 1948 torches was on display together with the trophies that Surrey teams had won at the recent CAU Inter-County Cross-Country Championships. The Awards for the Best Performances for each age group in the 2012 Surrey Track & Field Championships and for the 2012/13 Sportshall Series were made by our Joint Presidents, Patricia and Michael Cole. The Officials Award was presented to Ken Nunn.
The AGM re-elected the existing officers to serve for 2013/14.
(14) IAAF WORLD CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS, BYDGOSZCZ, POLAND, 24TH MARCH 2013
JUNIOR WOMEN: Emelia Gorecka (AFD) was first non-African finisher in 16th place with a time of 19:19 for the 6km course. GB&NI team were 3rd.
JUNIOR MEN: Lewis Lloyd (HHH) finished 77th with a time of 24:17 for the 8km course. GB&NI team were 9th.
SENIOR WOMEN: Emily Wicks (AFD) finished 65th with a time of 26:48 for the 8km course. GB&NI team were 7th.
(15) NEW SURREY U15 GIRLS HAMMER RECORD
Competing at Luton on 6th April 2013, Sophie Mace (Walton AC) improved her previous record of 43.83m, set in February, to 46.05m.
(16) UK U13/U15 SPORTSHALL FINALS, BIRMINGHAM, 7TH APRIL 2013
Excellent performances by the Surrey teams. The Under-13 Girls were placed 6th and the Under-15 Boys were placed 3rd. Sophie Mace won the Individual Shot medal.
(17) SURREY DISABILITY TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS, KINGSMEADOW, 6TH/7TH APRIL 2013
Competing in Tallahassee, Florida on 13th April 2013, Georgia Peel (Aldershot, Farnham & District AC) regained the record she first set as a 15-year old in July 2009. Her time of 4:14.40 improved the previous record of 4:15.38 set by Emelia Gorecka in August 2012.
