Starting in 1958 the Surrey County Athletic Association published a newsletter with the banner heading shown above. It was issued around 3 times a year giving reports on recent events and news regarding upcoming activities. During 1969 SCAN was edited by Clive Shippen, John Martell and David Cocksedge. The items shown below are mostly taken from those SCAN issues which covered 1969 whilst others are from reports to the SCAAA & SCWAAA General Committees.
(1) SURREY WOMENS TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS, WIMBLEDON PARK, 31ST MAY 1969
The AGM was held at Merton Abbey Primary School and was attended by 38 persons.
Roy Brisley was elected as President for the next year. Grace Miles and Connie Leslie were elected as Life Vice-Presidents; Madeleine Cobb was made a Life Member in recognition of her service to the County over a number years and Jenny Pawsey was made a Vice-President in appreciation of her service to the Executive Committee.
The following officers were elected: Chairman - David Shepherd; Hon Secretary - Jim Braben; Assist. Secretary - Jean Hutcherson; Hon Treasurer - Hazel Read and Hon Champs Secretary - Win Shepherd.
