(21) SCAA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, 27TH MARCH 2026.
The meeting expressed its thanks to Lesley & Graham Taylor for the way they had carried out their role as Joint Presidents for the past 2 years. Eleanor Gatrell was elected as President for the new year.
Frances Ratchford stood down as Chairman and the Association is seeking a replacement. The other Officers remain in post. Peter Shilling was replaced by Christine Burbage as Chair of the Competitions Sub-Committee.

(23) SURREY SENIOR MEN DISCUS RECORD, 12TH APRIL 2026.
Competing in the Oklahoma Throws Series in Ramona OK, USA on 12th April 2026 Lawrence Okoye (Croydon) with a throw of 71.88m set a new UK Record. The previous Surrey & UK records were 70.76m which Lawrence set at the same venue in 2025.
(26) SURREY UNDER-18 MEN JAVELIN RECORD, 19TH APRIL 2026.
Competing in the UK Youth Development meeting held at Crawley on 19th April 2026 Alexander Crooks (Guildford & Godalming) set a new Surrey Under-18 Men 700g Javelin record with a throw of 49.73m. The previous record of 45.40m was set by Jack Dormer (Woking) in 2025.
(27) SURREY SENIOR MEN MARATHON BEST PERFORMANCE, 26TH APRIL 2026.
Competing in the London Marathon 26th April 2026 Jack Rowe (Aldershot, Farnham & District) set a new Surrey Marthon best performance with a time of 2:07:47. The previous best performance of 2:10:10 was set by George James (Dorking & Mole Valley) in 2025.
(28) BRITISH INTER-COUNTIES MOUNTAIN RACE, SEDBURGH 3RD MAY 2026.
Run over a distance of 14.5km, with 980m of elevation gain, the race also also included the British Athletics trial for the Senior ‘Up-and-Down’ race at the European Off-Road Running Championships, resulting in a strong field.
Representing Surrey, Oscar Subuh-Symons (Dorking & Mole Valley) placed 4th in the Senior Men's race in a time of 1:17'14", while Suzy Whatmough (Ranelagh) placed 45th in the Senior Women's race in a time of 1:38'28".
Subsequently, Oscar has been selected to represent Great Britain & Northern Ireland in the 'Up-and-Down' race at the European Championships, to be held in Kamnik, Slovenia from 5th-7th June 2026.
(29) SURREY UNDER-20 MEN MILE RECORD, 4TH MAY 2026.
Competing in the A race at the Bannister Miles meeting held at Oxford on 4th May 2026 Ethan Newell (Sutton & District) set a new Surrey Under-20 Men Mile record with a time of 4:01.29. The previous record of 4:02.8 was set by John Rix (SLH) in 1967.
(30) SURREY COUNTY TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS PART 2, WAAC, KINGSMEADOW, 9TH/10TH MAY 2026.
The outstanding performance from the weekend was the 7.67m/+0.5 long jump by Michael Maguire (Reigate Priory) for the Under-18 Men. This was better than the Senior Men's CBP of 7.62m and the Under-20 Men's CBP of 7.47m. As with all the leading performances for U14/U16/U18 events this was an Under-17 Championship Best Performance. Piers Spencer-Simms (Blackheath & Bromley) won the U16 Boys 100m with a time of 10.45 which was faster than the existing Surrey County Record of 10.54 but was wind-assisted. Giles Hoogewerf (Momentum TC) set a new Surrey County Record for U16B 600g Javelin with a throw of 55.70m. The previous record of 52.93m was set by Giles in 2025.
In the Under-16 Girls 3kg Hammer Adanna Anah (Crawley) set a new Surrey County Record of 51.52m which was an improvement on the 50.60m thrown by Sophie Mace (Walton) in 2014.
(32) SURREY UNDER-20 MEN 1500M RECORD, 16TH MAY 2026.
Competing in the BMC meeting held at Trafford on 16th May 2026 Ethan Newell (Sutton & District) set a new Surrey Under-20 Men 1500m record with a time of 3:40.65. The previous record of 3:42.8 was set by Jonny Hay (AFD) in 2011.
